Canavape CBD E-liquids Review

With a detailed understanding of full-spectrum extraction, CBD, CBG, and natural terpene flavourings, Canavape clearly knows what they’re doing when it comes to cannabis vape juice. So, this week, I’m excited to try their newest CBD e-liquid range alongside their CBD additives.

MIST's overall score of Canavape CBD e-liquids

MIST’s Verdict

Review Summary: The Canavape e-juice range is delicious and potent, probably the best cannabinoid e-liquid range I’ve encountered in 10+ years of vaping.

Review Disclosure: Canavape provided MIST with the CBD e-liquids used in this review. However, our thoughts and opinions are not influenced by the brand.

Packaging and Labels

The Canavape 50ml e-liquids arrive in primarily white boxes with colours to indicate the flavour within.

The front of the box shows the company logo, the bottle’s flavour, how many milligrams of cannabinoid are contained in each millilitre, and the overall strength rating.

Boxes containing e-liquids made with full-spectrum cannabinoids also have the word “Complete” printed in reflective silver next to the Canavape logo.

One side of the box shows the company logo, whereas the other side lists the lab testing, made in the UK, full-spectrum contents, and a QR code you can scan for authenticity.

The back of the box briefly explains the flavour, along with a detailed list of dominant terpenes within the e-liquid. Beneath this, you can also find instructions and tips on increasing the strength with additive shots. At the very bottom, you’ll find an ingredient list.

The design of the bottles mostly matches that of the box. Despite containing 50ml of e-liquid, each shortfill bottle has a 65ml capacity so that you can add CBD additive shots to increase the strength if you wish.

The 10ml additive arrives in similar packaging, formatted just like the shortfill boxes.

Broad Spectrum

Flavour: 4/5
Favourite flavour: Watermelon Ice

The broad-spectrum e-liquids by Canavape use traditional vape juice flavourings and have no detectable cannabis scent, making them great for stealthy puffs. The broad-spectrum juices have a total strength of 1250mg (1130mg CBD / 120CBG) and a strength of 25mg per 1ml.

Strawberry Raspberry & Cherry Ice

Score: 3/5

This was the first of the non-terpene Canavape juices I tried, and I was surprised by how well a CBD company imparted a playful, fruity flavour. Unfortunately, some of the flavours, such as the cherry, are a bit indistinct when blended together.

Still, it’s a tasty note of sugary zest, which does a great job of covering up the cannabis contents.

Berry Lemonade Ice

Score: 4/5

Berry Lemonade Ice is a new cannabis-infused take on the classic vape flavour blend of a mentholated citrus beverage with additional tart mixed fruits. Canavape does a great job of bringing this lip-smacking combo to the world of CBD vaping, with the ice being a really nice feature.

Kiwi Passionfruit & Guava Ice

Score: 4/5

Another classic vape combo now with this distinct trio of paradise fruits. The kiwi brings a lovely note of playful sugar while the passionfruit and guava fight it out over sour supremacy. The use of ice is an excellent feature for this juice in particular, as, without it, the fruity flavours can be at risk of being a bit too sour to savour.

Pineapple Peach & Mango Ice

Score: 3/5

While Pineapple Peach & Mango Ice attempts another triple-fruit smash hit like the tropical e-liquid above, the flavours just don’t quite meld right for me, sadly. The Pineapple is a little too syrupy and the peach disappears a bit in the mango’s powerful wake. Still, it’s certainly a refreshing and sweet mixed-fruit CBD juice; it’s just not quite as flavoursome as some others.

Watermelon Ice

Score: 4/5

Now this is a classic flavour that would always work well as a cannabis vape juice! The rounded, exotic sweetness of watermelon makes the CBD go down smooth as anything, and the icy addition ensures you never get too sugared out before getting a nice cool palate cleanse.

Full Spectrum

Flavour: 5/5
Favourite flavour: Pineapple Express and White Widow

The Full-Spectrum e-liquids from Canavape take everything legally permissible from the plant, including the flavouring terpenes. This results in both a stronger dosage of 1800mg (1600mg CBD / 200mg CBG) and a noticeable cannabis taste and smell when exhaled.

Blue Zkittlez

Score: 4/5

With flavouring taken from a classic strain that rides the line regarding naming fair use, Blue Zkittles delivers a cross between the Blue Diamond and original Zkittles cannabis strains. With a fruity and sugary natural flavour that edges towards the candy taste, it’s exceptionally authentic in its ultimately herby profile.

Blue Dream

Score: 4/5

Blue Dream emerged from a cross between the popular Haze and Blueberry (not the fruit!) plants. This leads to a smoky, earthy taste with a hint of berry sweetness that comes from the second cannabis plant mentioned above. I found this to be a nostalgic flavour, and I won’t say why!

White Widow

Score: 5/5

An extremely popular strain first developed in Amsterdam in the 90s, White Widow connects Brazilian Sativa and South Indian Indica. The flavour is a rich and pungent weed profile, which is incredibly accurate—so accurate, in fact, that I’d suggest caution about where and when you vape on this herbal little number!

Granddaddy Purple

Score: 4/5

Granddaddy Purple is one of the weediest-smelling Canavape juices. One of the original plants in the crossover was the infamous skunk cannabis crop. The result is a super botanical taste with hints of grape and berry from the Purps and Afghani origin plants, though once again, this is a flavour you might want to keep indoors.

Pineapple Express

Score: 5/5

With a delightful citrus profile, Pineapple Express delivers full-bodied flavour enhanced with a note of natural sweetness from the eponymous plant, made world-famous by a particular 2008 movie. Pineapple Express has a slightly sweeter note than some of the other terpene e-liquids, though keep in mind that its aroma is still very cannabis-infused.

Additives

Canavape also specialises in additive shots, formerly known as “boosters.” You can add these flavourless concentrates to any e-liquid, even CBD e-liquids, to give them an extra cannabinoid boost.

As they are designed to be flavourless, I won’t be much use in going over the tastes. But there are certainly options to consider!

  • The Full Spectrum bottle provides 1200mg of CBD, with all the extra goodies that come along with full-spectrum extraction.
  • The 1:1 CBD+CBG is 2400mg in strength, made from an equal amount of cannabidiol and cannabigerol.
  • Lastly, Pure CBG delivers 2400mg of just cannabigerol, great if you find it to be a more effective cannabinoid.

Throat Hit

Score: 4/5

The Canavape CBD shortfills are mostly quite smooth on the throat, though they do generally have a high PG ratio of around 60 or 70, depending on the bottle in question. The lack of any nicotine solution cuts back on discomfort, however, and I didn’t find any of the juices that caused me to cough at all.

Those hoping for a bit more of a throat hit should consider the fruity ice flavours, as the cold note is always fairly powerful when inhaled.

Vapour Production

Score: 3/5

The Canavape shortfills don’t produce too much vapour, which is largely down to the lesser VG contents in each bottle.

This is always a good idea for CBD e-liquids, as the last thing you want is to lose any of your fairly pricy cannabinoid juice in a big cloud. Better to stick with PG-centric vape brews that produce small, concentrated amount of cannabis-infused vapour.

Summary

In an industry where some CBD vape manufacturers often cut corners, the Canavape e-liquid range is, in my view, the best CBD vape juice currently available. Canavape’s vape juices are the genuine article, and it’s definitely the range I’d recommend to anyone interested in vaping CBD.

The MIST Favourite:

  • Intricacy: There’s a really lovely lack of uniformity in the Canavape range. Some juices are full spectrum, others are broad spectrum. Some use terpenes, others don’t. It’s great to find a CBD juice range that isn’t just the same thing every time, with a different flavouring added for variation.
