Packaging and Labels

The Wenax Q Pro arrives in one of Geekvape’s characteristic grey and orange boxes with a sleeve over the front.

The front of the sleeve shows the device’s picture and name and the company logo. One side shows just the Geekvape logo, and the other shows the company’s social media contacts.

The back of the sleeve reveals a contents list and contact information for Geekvape, as well as the kit’s features, such as the smart screen, haptic feedback, and 2A charge speeds.

When the sleeve is removed, we first see a large orange sleeve holding the user manual. Beneath this, we find a plastic insert holding the kit with a 0.6ohm pod already inserted. A spare 0.8ohm pod and a box containing the included USB-C charging cable are next to the kit.

Build Quality

Score: 4-5

The Wenax Q Pro is surprisingly bulky. Not obscenely so—it is a pod kit, after all—but I noticed it felt slightly chunkier than some other similar pod vape kits. It’s not so large as to cause discomfort, however, and due to the low carry weight of 64 g, it feels as though it’s made from either zinc or aluminium alloy. (Sadly, the user manual and Geekvape website don’t reveal the construction materials used.)

The device has a single firing button on the front, above a full-colour 0.96” smart screen, which features some touch functionality when navigating menus and changing power outputs.

The kit’s sides are flanked by a duo of charging port and airflow slider, with grooves added to the slider nub to assist in accurate placement.

One very nice touch is the anti-drop bottom, a chunky rubber slab on the kit’s base that prevents it from making hard contact with surfaces when put down with force.

The kit is also compatible with the Q Cartridge series of pods, which uses Geekvape’s VPU coil design philosophy (vertical mesh cages and non-woven cotton).

The pods refill by snapping off the mouthpiece, so it’s simple to refill while on the move.

Finally, the device also features haptic feedback, a vibration function that calls your attention to pod and power issues for moments when you may not be looking at the screen.

Performance

Score: 5/5

I’ve enjoyed using the Wenax Q Pro this week! It’s got a lovely flavour profile, doubtless due to the excellent design of the Q Cartridges. I was surprised by the device’s power potential as well, with a maximum output of 30W. That opens doors to some genuine RDL functionality!

The device has a menu that can be accessed with four rapid taps. This menu reveals options for mode selection, a lock function, puff counter reset, and an Eco mode switch.

The mode selection lets you decide whether you want Smart mode on or not. If switched on, the device will prevent you from assigning a wattage that’s too powerful for the installed pod. Meanwhile, the Eco mode switch can stretch out the life of the battery, which is a great feature for when you’re nowhere near a charging station.

And while there is a firing button, the draw-activation is very responsive, and can be used to vape from the kit even when the button lock has been activated.

Ease of Use

Score: 4.5/5

Beginners will have no trouble using the Wenax Q Pro. The menu is very straightforward and easy to navigate, and the device doesn’t have any advanced functions.

While some new vapers might initially be a bit lost when faced with terms like ‘Smart mode’ and ‘Eco mode’, these aren’t essential features, and it only takes a brief look at the manual to understand what these functions do.

The Smart mode will be useful to new vapers because they may not be familiar with wattage outputs and which are most optimal for a given coil.

Battery Life

Score: 4.5/5

The Wenax Q Pro contains a 1200mAh battery, which is fairly ample and capable of providing good long vaping sessions. I myself haven’t run into any recharge frustrations, and I’m generally using the kit at around 25W, so I can attest to the longevity of the charge.

Another great battery aspect is the Eco mode, which can drastically lengthen the lifespan of your battery charge when you aren’t able to plug it in anywhere. And 2A charge speeds mean that you can get it fully recharged from depletion in just 30 minutes.

Flavour Output

Score: 4.5/5

The Q Cartridge pods used by the Wenax Q Pro produce very clear, pure flavours. This is due to the VPU design Geekvape uses for their Wenax pods, which utilizes higher-quality meshes and non-woven wicking materials that don’t impart any flavour impurities.

As a result, the pod I’ve been using this week hasn’t diminished in terms of flavour carrying, and I haven’t even had to consider using the second pod included in the pack. Keep in mind as well that following a solid week of chain vaping from me, I’m fairly impressed!

Summary

The Geekvape Wenax Q Pro is a lovely device, simple to use and master, with user-friendly functionality and extra user modes that even new vapers will find easy to get to grips with.

I think that people seeking a cloudy pod kit might look elsewhere, as while 30W is nice it’s not exactly sub-ohm levels of power output. But those in need of a fun new MTL and RDL pod pen will adore the Wenax Q Pro!

The MIST Favourite Feature:

  • Haptic Feedback: I’ve loved rumble-functions since 90s games consoles started using them, and the haptic feedback provided by the Wenax Q Pro is great for grabbing your attention when otherwise distracted.
