Raised fill port lets you refill without removing the pod

The OXVA XLIM SQ Pro won our awards for Best Refillable Pod Kits and Best MTL Kit in 2023, and it’s once again ready to take a victory lap as the Best Small Vape of 2024.

I’ve no idea how such a small kit contains a mammoth 1200mAh battery, but I’ve found I can use the XLIM SQ Pro for two days non-stop without running into battery issues. And sessioning was easy thanks to the included lanyard, which allowed me to wear the lightweight kit and keep it within reach at all times.

A raised refill port on the pods makes it easy to refill without taking the pod out, though once again, there sadly aren’t any options to use replaceable coils. However, the mod will automatically detect the best wattage setting for your chosen pod with Smart mode, and you have the option of manual adjustment as well.

Pros

  • Great all-day battery
  • Compact size and good outputs
  • Comfortable and clean pods

Cons

  • No option to replace coils
  • Menu themes are pointless

Bountiful Battery: 2000mAh lasts ages for MTL vaping
Tiered Treat: Simple wattage adjustment across 3 tiers of output
Turn and Pour: Easily refilled by quarter-turning the mouthpiece

Vaping has innumerable advantages over smoking, but one hurdle that’s yet to be overcome is the fact that cigarettes may kill you, but they don’t run out of battery.

The Aspire Flexus AIO Pod Vape Kit is a pocket-friendly reusable vape that performs excellently as a cigarette-replacing MTL vape kit. Plus, it’s loaded with an ample 2000mAh battery – making it the best small vape with long battery life for MTL vaping with nic salts and 50/50 e-liquids.

Smaller vapes usually sacrifice some battery for portability, but Aspire has kept it both palm-sized and surprisingly lightweight.

The scale is kept down by eschewing a display screen, with charge level and wattage adjustment indicated by a simple system of 3 LED lights, along with a partial-plastic build that’s both cool to look through and also lighter than air.

Pros

  • Long-lasting 2000mAh battery
  • Easy single-button wattage adjustment
  • Lightweight build despite sizable battery

Cons

  • Occasional leak issues with the pod
  • Plastic parts can be fragile if dropped

First Steps: A great way to start vaping
Pod Picker: Pick between disposable pods and changeable coils
Great Grip: Very comfortable faux-leather grip panel

There’s a chance you’re reading this because you’re getting ready for the upcoming ban on disposable vapes. If that’s you, consider the Voopoo Doric E Pod Kit for your first refillable vape kit.

Unlike kits such as the Wenax U, the Doric E allows you to decide whether you want to use disposable ITO Pods with pre-installed coils or reusable empty ITO Pods for vaping your e-liquid, as it’s compatible with both. It’s a choice between convenience and value, something a refillable-newbie like you will appreciate being able to choose between.

With an ITO Pod filled with e-liquid you can vape for approximately 72 hours before needing a recharge, which will only take an hour. You don’t get a vast amount of wattage output (something the SMOK Nord GT does a lot better), but the tapered tips of the ITO Pods make it clear this kit is meant for mouth-to-lung vaping and has perfect outputs to suit that variety of e-liquid.

Pros

  • Good choice for new vapers
  • Compatible with disposable and reusable pods
  • Comfortable grip panel

Cons

  • Built-in battery could stand to be a bit larger
  • ITO Pods not suited for RDL e-liquid vaping

Espionage E-Cig: Discreet vape barely larger than a cigarette lighter
Hidden Power: Impressive 1000mAh battery despite size
Switch it Up: Single-button wattage adjustment settings

For those times when you need a cheeky puff without drawing any attention, a compact and discreet vape like the Geekvape Wenax U ensures you won’t catch any glares.

Though older than the other vape kits in this review, the Wenax U is still impressive over a year since its release in 2022. 78.2mm(H) x 35.4mm(W) is as pocket-friendly as it gets, able to slip into the palm and out of sight instantly.

And you aren’t sacrificing anything, as the Wenax U has an incredible 1000mAh battery, larger than the cell in the Caliburn GK3 above, along with manual power adjustment to suit your vaping style.

So what are the downsides to this device? I can speak from personal experience with vape kits; the Wenax U is so compact that it’s annoyingly easy to misplace, being the smallest vape around. But if you can manage not to lose it, you’ll love this perfectly palmable pod vape kit.

Pros

  • One of the smallest pod vapes in the world
  • Contains a larger battery than many larger kits
  • Manual power adjustment

Cons

  • Can be easy to lose!
  • No changeable coil options

One of the best things about the pod vape era is the ability to do some serious cloud chasing without ruining your coat lining with a dual-battery mod. Kits like the SMOK Nord GT keep the build size down without sacrificing too much plume potential.

2500mAh is a whopping capacity, and one which should serve you well if you want to use the device at it’s 80W maximum output. This kind of power, coupled with 0.15ohm coils, will result in some massive cloud production.

Admittedly that huge battery won’t last forever if the kit is used at full output, and the mouthpiece, though very comfortable, isn’t perfect for big lung inhales. But it’s the best small vape pen for on-the-go clouds and won’t weigh you down.

Pros

  • Huge cloud potential
  • Great for on-the-move sub-ohm vaping
  • Comfy mouthpieces

Cons

  • Battery can be drained quickly by intense use
  • OLED screen is a bit small

Tasty Pods: Q Cartridges use VPU technology for great flavour
Snap Off: Easy refills by snapping off the mouthpiece
Mighty Mesh: Vertical mesh coils prevent burnouts

You probably wouldn’t expect some of the best flavour to come from budget-priced vape kits, but vaping’s full of surprises like the Geekvape Wenax Q Mini Kit.

The Geekvape Q Cartridges contain a number of features that promote richer tastes from e-liquid than most other vapes. Ceramic cores, vertical meshes, and higher-quality wicks all come together to generate rich e-liquid flavour that isn’t impacted by the materials used to atomize the e-liquid.

A shrunk-down version of the original Wenax Q, the Mini eschews the display screen of the larger kit yet retains the 1000mAh battery, opting for automatic wattage rather than manual inputs. If that was an essential feature for you, then consider the OXVA XLIM SQ Pro, but if you’d prefer a more convenient flavour kit, then the Wenax Q Mini is the one for you.

Features We Love

Tiny Titan: Extremely small and slim build size
Rapid Charge: 2A-rated charging speeds
LCD FTW: Old-school LCD screen won’t drain the battery

All the pod vapes on this list are small, but if you want real pocket-friendly portability, the Uwell Caliburn GK3 Pod Kit has the rest of the pod vape kits beat.

Measuring only 74.8mm(H) x 49.2mm(W), it’ll slip neatly into any pocket you’ve got. Vape kits like the Doric E are great for many reasons but the cylindrical design does make it a bit bulky in your skinny jeans.

The Caliburn GK3 also comes with a lanyard, much like the OXVA XLIM SQ Pro, so it’s easy to keep it within reach at all times. And one of my favourite features is the use of an LCD display.

With a battery of only 900mAh, you don’t want to waste a single watt, and unlike OLED and TFT screens, LCD drains hardly any charge at all. It also grants the vape a unique old-school vibe that’s a great conversation starter.

Pros

  • Tiny and discreet build size and pocket-friendly weight
  • Great use for LCD display for battery saving
  • Rapid charging speeds

Cons

  • The pods stick out a bit too far
  • No manual wattage adjustment settings
