Packaging and Labels
Each Dinner Lady Select Tobacco e-juice arrives in cardboard boxes containing 10ml bottles.
The box will have a black and coloured design, the colour of which depends on the flavour within. The top of the front of the box displays the Dinner Lady Select Tobacco logo, with the selected flavour listed below, along with the nicotine strength.
Beneath all this, of course, is a TPD health warning.
The sides of the box list contact info, ingredient lists, and further health warnings, while the ‘back’ of the box mirrors the front.
The bottle reflects the same colour and labelling design as the box and features a child-proof bottle cap.

The Dinner Lady Select Tobacco range consists of 8 flavours, all of which I received as samples.
The juices arrive in 10ml bottles and are available in 10mg and 20mg strengths. Dinner Lady sent me the 10mg versions, and I used a Vaporesso XROS 4 Nano Kit (the MIST Vape Awards 2024 winner for Best MTL Kit and Best Refillable Pod Kit).
Creamy
Score: 3.5 out of 5
The first detectable flavour is a rich dairy note, wrapped around a gentle profile of spiced tobacco with an earthy taste. The creamy flavours are slightly harsh on the throat, which isn’t unusual even with a nicotine salt. The sweetness is relatively restrained and doesn’t transform it into a ‘dessert’ style of vape juice.
Menthol
Score: 3.5 out of 5
A cool and botanical menthol wave strikes the tongue along with the gentle tobacco flavour. Thankfully, there’s no detectable sweetness to the menthol. This allows the e-liquid to perfectly replicate the unmistakable taste of mentholated cigarettes, blending a herbal cool buzz with tobacco fragrance and musk.
Kentucky Nut
Score: 4 out of 5
An absorbing layer of semi-sweet, semi-savoury, and slightly creamy nut flavour accompanies the tobacco. This results in a sumptuous, ‘brown’ tasting profile that’s very moreish and leans just far enough into sweetness without tipping over into cloying or indulgent flavour territory.
Rich
Score: 3.5 out of 5
This is a raw, shaggy, and slightly sour tobacco blend. It is reminiscent of a particular rolling tobacco brand known for its four-letter name and navy blue packaging, which was allowed back then. It’s too rich and powerful for some vapers, but hardened longtime smokers are likely to enjoy this raw drag of tobacco flavour.
Caramel
Score: 4.5 out of 5
I was surprised by the restrained sweetness! As a take on the classic ‘RY4’ tobacco/caramel blend, I was anticipating more of a rich dessert note. However, interestingly, it’s more similar in taste to a popular brand of cigarillos often sold in thin tins. The tobacco flavour is gentle but firm, with a light and playful note of fiery caramel on the back end, providing a pleasant touch of sugar.
Captain
Score: 4 out of 5
Captain has a heavily spiced and, at times, fruity profile, reminiscent of Turkish pipe tobacco with a few berries scattered into the pack to retain moisture. It’s an old naval trick, and the taste of Captain harks back to the smell of my merchant navy grandad’s characteristic scent—a zesty and nostalgic flavour.
Cuban
Score: 5 out of 5
Deep, toasted, and savoury, Cuban is very clearly an effort to convey the distinct scent and taste of a thigh-rolled Romeo Y Julietta or Monte Cristo cigar. There’s an incredible depth of flavour to Cuban, somehow packed full of more character than Caramel and Mint despite being a pure one-note flavour profile. It’s the best cigar e-liquid I’ve ever tried.
Virginia
Score: 4 out of 5
Somewhat similar to Cuban in taste, Virginia leans a bit more into the natural sweetness of the tobacco plant and has the same scent as gentle rolling tobacco. It’s slightly less distinct than others in the range but very moreish, and it carries a noticeable aftertaste that nostalgic smokers are bound to love.
Throat Hit
Score: 3.5 out of 5
As the e-liquids use nicotine salts, there isn’t too much throat rasp to worry about. Though if you prefer a bit of a sharp shock, the Menthol flavour provides an enjoyable icy note.
Consider the Creamy or Caramel flavours if you prefer a slight roughness in your tobacco e-liquid. Those had a somewhat more powerful throat hit.
Vapour Production
Score: 4 out of 5
The amount of vapour produced by the Dinner Lady Select Tobacco range is precisely how much smoke you’d expect to see emerge from a cigarette. It’s not too cloudy but also not a sparse enough volume of vapour to leave you wondering if you inhaled anything.
Summary
The Dinner Lady Select Tobacco range is fantastic and a must-try for anyone who’s recently quit smoking. I was seriously impressed by Dinner Lady’s intricate understanding of subtle tobacco flavour, which is entirely different from their usual fruity, candy, and creamy offerings.
So I wouldn’t hesitate to immediately recommend this range of nic salts to anyone looking to start vaping but keen to retain their love of tobacco.
The Mist Favourite
Cuban
This flavour has an incredibly strong and characterful taste profile. The rich tobacco leaf notes are laden with earthy, spiced notes and a powerful aroma. It’s one of the best tobacco e-liquids I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried dozens.
