Elf Bar devices are sometimes sold under different brand names despite being produced by Shenzhen IMiracle Technology Co.

This is for various reasons, though one of the most important is that Elf Bar lost a lawsuit in the United States against another vaping company trading under the brand name ‘Elf’.

Since then, Elf Bar units have been sold in the US under the sister brand names of Lost Mary and EB Create.

Why Are Elf Bars So Popular?

The reason Elf Bar is a popular brand comes down to simplicity and satisfaction. During the early vaping boom, some smokers were put off by what they saw as a complicated new technology involving ‘coil changes’ and an understanding of ‘wattage’ and other electrical terminology.

Elf Bars provided a much more streamlined vaping experience. You remove the bar from the packaging and start puffing, then throw it away in a day or so when it no longer works.

What Are Elf Bars Made Of?

Elf Bar disposables are made of several components. Plastic casings house a pre-charged battery and a small draw-activated heating element placed near or within an e-liquid reservoir or a sponge soaked in nicotine salt e-liquid.

Prefilled pod Elf Bar products, such as the 4-In-1 or the Lost Mary Tappo, feature more durable constructions, as they’re meant to last you longer. The casing is sturdier, mostly made from aluminium or zinc alloy and can withstand more frequent use.

The critical difference in the construction of the disposable devices and reusable Elf Bar kits is both the inclusion of a built-in battery that can’t be recharged and a removable pod containing the nic salt e-liquid and coil, something that was fully integrated and non-removable in the disposable units.

The e-liquids used by Elf Bar vapes are always made using nic salts, a variety of e-liquids that use harmless benzoic acid to provide a smooth throat hit, which is often caused by traditional ‘freebase’ e-liquids.

The nicotine salts e-liquid is brewed with a 50 VG / 50 PG ratio, meaning an equal split between vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol. This produces a minimal cloud, which is heavily laden with rich flavour. The main benefit of nic salt e-liquid is that it provides a smoother throat hit across all nicotine strength options to those trying to quit smoking.

How Do Elf Bars Work

Elf Bars are almost always buttonless. The internal mechanism uses something called ‘draw-activation’, which means it detects a sudden movement of air and instantly begins atomizing the e-liquid within for as long as it detects breath being drawn.

You can demonstrate this by blowing into the base of an Elf Bar; you’ll immediately begin to see vapour emerging from the mouthpiece above, though we don’t recommend you waste your 2mls of e-liquid in this way for long! An LED light will often indicate the device is firing.

How to Use an Elf Bar?

As mentioned earlier, using an Elf Bar is pretty straightforward, regardless if you choose a disposable or prefilled. Here are the steps:

To use a disposable Elf Bar product:

1. Remove the Elf Bar from the box
2. Remove the Elf Bar from the plastic wrapping
3. Remove the rubber stopper in the mouthpiece
4. Remove the sticker on the base airflow port
5. Start vaping!
6. When the e-liquid is gone, recycle the Elf Bar device.

To use a prefilled Elf Bar product like the 4-In-1 Kit, the Lost Mary Tappo or the Elf Bar AF5000:

1. Remove the Elf Bar product from the box.
2. In the case of the 4-In-1 and Tappo, place your e-liquid pods at the top of the device.
3. In the case of the AF5000, remove the rubber stopper from the bottle dock, remove the lid of the included 10ml bottle and push the bottle into the open port on the kit’s underside.
4. Start vaping!
5. When the e-liquid is gone from the 4-In-1 and Tappo kits, order new pods.

Are Elf Bars Safe? 

Elf Bars go through strict batch testing before leaving their production facilities, providing the highest grade of quality control. Being the most successful disposable pen manufacturer, Elf Bar are extremely averse to any negative press about their products, and as such will always ensure that their disposable vapes are fault-proof and incapable of firing without draw-activation.

How Many Puffs in an Elf Bar

For the same TPD-related reasons as mentioned above, different models of Elf Bar will usually have very similar puff counts due to the e-juice capacity limit and subsequent small batteries.
