Zeus Juice Zodiac Range Review

Zeus Juice, which has developed a cult following in its 10+ years of producing fruity vape juices, has recently unleashed its new Zodiac line of vape juices.

There are four flavours in the range, which are available as nic salts, 50/50s, and high-VG shortfills. And we’re thrilled to have all three variations for a review!

First things first, although I have over ten years of vaping experience, it’s important to keep in mind that taste is always going to be subjective; what I love might not be to your taste.

With that said, here’s our hands-on review of Zeus Juice’s Zodiac e-liquids.

Review Summary: Fruity vape fans will absolutely adore this range of e-liquids no matter what style of vaping they enjoy. The Zeus Juice Zodiac range is brimming with natural fruity tastes, delivering sweet aroma profiles that boast remarkably authentic flavours.

Review Disclosure: Zeus Juice have provided MIST with 12 e-liquids, consisting of four flavors, each in three different varieties: nic salts, 50/50, and high VG. However, it’s important to note that this does not influence my personal opinion on the quality or taste of the e-liquids provided.

Packaging and Labels

The packaging for the Zodiac juices is bright and colourful, with no white space left over.

The nic salt boxes display an artist’s rendering of their flavour profile, with the nicotine strength displayed at the top of the box’s front. The two sides simply show a brand illustration, while the back of the box shows the bottle size, nicotine strength, and necessary health warnings, along with a simplified list of ingredients.

The 50/50 shortfill bottles have a larger illustration on the front, with ingredients and health warnings placed on the back. Unlike the nic salts, there are no TPD warnings in place as the bottle will not contain nicotine at the moment of sale.

The 100ml high-VG shortfill bottle is exactly the same as the 50ml 50/50 bottle, but larger.

All three varieties of bottle feature best-before dates and batch codes, and use dark, shaded plastic, which is good for preserving e-liquid for long periods of time by shielding it from sunlight. The nozzles are thin and should be able to enter any refill port without issue.

The 50ml and 100ml shortfill bottles feature a small groove cut from just underneath where the nozzle cap attaches to the bottle, making it easier to remove if you wish to add nicotine shots.

The Zeus Juice Zodiac range features four flavours, all of which have been sampled for this review. The Zodiac flavours are as follows:

  1. Crius
  2. Cora
  3. Electra
  4. Aether

The nic salts I tried are all 10mg, though 20mg and 5mg units are available. The 50/50 50ml shortfills and 70VG 100ml shortfills were used without nic shots being added.

Nic salts and 50/50 shortfills were vaped from a Freemax Maxpod 3 using 1.2ohm pods, while the high VG e-liquids were vaped from a Uwell Crown D using 0.3ohm coils.

Overall, I found the Zodiac range to be remarkably natural in its flavouring. I was able to taste the zest, pulp and rind of fruits like lemon, pineapple, lime and watermelon.

Ice featured in most of them, but never strongly enough to alter the flavour profile. A wider airflow for the 70VG juices did result in a cooler inhale, but this will simply be due to the increased volume of vapour inhaled when engaged in direct-to-lung vaping.

Below, you’ll find my in-depth impressions of all four flavours.

Cruis

Score: 8/10

Crius was the first of the Zeuis Juice Zodiac e-liquids I tried, and it immediately locked me in for an authentically flavoured fruity juice session.

The lemon and lime notes have a lot of zesty rind flavour to them, resulting in a mature profile which eschews candy notes to instead focus on a very genuine bouquet of citrus tastes.

There’s a little hint of ice to Crius, not so cold as to impact the flavour but enough to elevate the fruity ingredients.

The nic salt and 50/50 shortfill versions taste exactly the same, while the DTL method of open-airway inhalation for the high-VG version resulted in a much colder inhale, so sub-ohm vapers should be aware that they’re in for a frostier experience.

Cora

Score: 7/10

A photo collage showing the different Zeus Juice Zodiac Cora in nic salt, 50/50, and high vg.

Cora offers up a popular berry blend of cherries, raspberries, and strawberries, and my first impression upon my initial inhale was a sense of being pleasantly surprised by the strength of the cherry juice.

It’s not uncommon for raspberry to overwhelm any blend it’s used in, yet Cora’s playful cherry and juicy strawberry notes are the main attraction here. The raspberry holds back, providing an underlying zest to the other more sugary fruits.

Oddly I found the 50/50 shortfill version to be a bit more flavoursome than the nicotine salt unit, potentially because I’ve not added nicotine to the larger bottle, resulting in a stronger and more rounded cherry taste, but I’m still looking for the tartness cherries are known for. To be fair, the restrained raspberry proves that Zeus weren’t attempting a sour juice with Cora.

The strawberry taste was also a bit more pronounced in the high-VG version, taking dominance over the zestier fruits to provide a more simplified sweetness.

So interestingly, all three kinds of vaper are likely to have differing – but equally delicious – taste experiences with Cora.

Electra

Score: 9/10

A photo collage showing the different Zeus Juice Zodiac Electra in nic salt, 50/50, and high vg.

Now *that* was a powerful pineapple puff! Full disclosure: in my experience in the vaping industry I’ve been able to sample dozens of pineapple vape juices, and I can confidently say that *none* of them have delivered such an authentic flavour as Electra by Zeus Juice.

Whereas most pineapple e-liquids have a kind of ‘syrupy’ taste with a tang of artificial sweetness, Electra hits you with a rich and, in places, savoury blast of pure paradise fruit. There’s an almost ‘woody’ quality, reminiscent of the hardened, hexagonal rind of pineapple skin.

The ice is very light, barely impacting the flavour at all and instead merely provide a palate cleanse after each sweet inhale.

The 50/50 version has a slightly punchier flavour thant he nic salt, with perhaps an even less-noticeable ice addition, making it more of a pure-fruit puff.

The high-vg shortfill version has perhaps the most muted flavour, yet once again the wide airflow setting you’ll be using results in a cooler puff, making the sub-ohm variant a bit more of a fruit-and-ice session vape.

Aether

Score: 8/10

A photo collage showing the different Zeus Juice Zodiac Aether in nic salt, 50/50, and high vg.

Much like with Crius and Electra, I’m fairly stunned by just how ‘real’ the watermelon flavour comes across in Aether.

All too often, watermelon vapes taste like gummy candy, and Aether proves that efforts to convey genuine fruit flavour are always worth it.

The watermelon taste is rich and rounded, with a delicious note of sweet cucumber, like real fruit.

The 50/50 shortfill version is slightly less sweet than the nic salt, but with a more nitcable hit of ice for greater levels of refreshment that do impact the fruit flavour ever so slightly.

The sub-ohm variant is colder still, but the fruity flavour stands its ground and conveys that echoing, grounded sweetness that watermelon is so widely praised for.

Throat Hit

Score:  4/5

The Zeus Juice Zodiac vape juices have a mix of throat hits, due to being available in three versions. The nic salt and high-VG versions are predictably smooth, due to benzoic acid and a higher VG contents respectively, yet the 50/50 shortfill is also relatively gentle.

All the flavours besides Cora have a noticeable addition of ice, which provides a cooling throat hit that’s very refreshing. As is often the case, the higher VG versions tend to be cooler but this is because wider airflow ports are used for sub-ohm vaping, so it likely doesn’t contain a greater volume of ice in the flavour mix.

Vapour Production

Score: 4/5

While the nic salt and 50/50 vape juices produce the kind of moderate vapour levels you would expect from MTL vape juice, the high-VG shortfill is much cloudier. Thick, coporeal and laden with zesty aromas and scents, the four Zodiac flavours create far more vapour when used in a DTL method.

Summary

The Zeus Juice Zodiac range of nic salts, 50/50s, and high-VG vape juices may be small but it’s very select. I can confidently say that in over ten years of vaping, I haven’t tried fruity e-liquids with such a natural and authentic taste.

The MIST Favourite:

Electra

This vape juice has single-handedly changed my entire perspective on pineapple vapes. I was so used to syrupy e-liquids that I’d genuinely forgotten the toothsome and complex taste of the paradise fruit. Zeus Juice redeemed pineapple to me, and for that alone, I’m naming it my absolute favourite from the range.
