50/50 vape juices use an equal amount of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), resulting in thin e-liquid composition that delivers the right balance of vapour and flavour. 50/50 e-liquids are best mouth-to-lung kits (like pod vapes) with high-resistance coils. Here at MIST, our huge collection of vape juices include 50/50 e-liquids made from the biggest e-liquid manufacturers, ZAP!, Dinner Lady, IVG, and more!
A 50/50 vape juice basically means that it contains propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (PG) mixed in equal amounts (50/50), hence its name. So, when you see an e-liquid and the label says that the 50 PG and 50 VG, it is considered a 50/50 vape juice.
The main difference between a 70/30 vape juice and a 50/50 e-liquid is the VG content. With a higher VG content (70 VG), you have a more subtle flavour output. You also get more vapour but a milder throat hit.
On the other hand, 50/50 vape juice delivers more flavour but low to medium throat hit and vapour.
Yes, you can get 50/50 shortfills. There is a misconception that shortfills are all high VG, but that's not always the case. For example, our MIST MTL range and our pastry range Sweet Thief are shortfills with a 50/50 composition.
You should use a 0.8ohm – 1.8ohm coil with 50/50 juice because a high-resistance coil will only atomise moderate vapour clouds, perfectly suiting the MTL vaping style.
Using a sub-ohm coil – meaning a coil with a resistance of less than 0.8ohms – will result in an unpleasantly intense inhale.
We don't recommend using 50/50 vape juice in a sub-ohm device because 50/50 e-liquid's consistency is thin. Moreover, sub-ohm coils' cotton are not designed to absorb such consistency, so, in return, you will get a leaky vape tank.
If your sub-ohm tank doesn't leak and you vape the 50/50 vape juice, you will experience a rough throat hit. The type of vape juice we recommend to use with sub-ohm tanks and kits are high VG shortfills.
Ideally, you should use a mouth-to-lung vape kit (pod vapes, vape pens, and starter kits) with 50/50 vape juices. But since some sub-ohm devices are capable of handling MTL and DTL vaping, make sure to swap the sub-ohm coil first with a MTL coil (0.8ohm – 1.8ohm coil) and lower the wattage (9W - 16W).
